Arusha | Arrival & Lodge Check-In

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your representative will meet you and assist with arrival formalities. Transfer by road to Arusha or USA River, a journey of about an hour through coffee farms and views of Mount Meru. Check in to your Serena Lodge and settle in after your flight. Use the rest of the day to relax in the gardens, freshen up and meet your guide for a briefing on the safari ahead. Dinner is served at the lodge, followed by an overnight stay in Arusha.

Tarangire | Elephants & Baobabs

After breakfast, check out and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and giant baobab trees. Enjoy a full game drive through the park along the Tarangire River, where you may spot lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and a wide variety of birdlife. Savour a picnic lunch in the park amid the scenery. In the late afternoon, continue to Lake Manyara, check in to your Serena Lodge and relax with dinner and an overnight stay.

Serengeti | Olduvai Gorge & Plains

After an early breakfast, check out and begin the scenic drive towards the Serengeti, climbing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stop at Olduvai Gorge, often called the Cradle of Humankind, to learn about early human discoveries at the site museum. Continue across the open plains with game viewing along the way, watching for wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and predators. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route. Arrive at your Serena Lodge in Central Serengeti in the late afternoon, check in and relax before dinner and an overnight stay.

Serengeti | Full-Day Game Drive

Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti National Park, one of Africa's greatest wildlife regions. Head out early with your guide to search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes and huge herds of wildebeest and zebra, depending on the season. Enjoy a packed lunch in the bush or return to the lodge for a relaxed meal. Continue with an afternoon game drive across the endless plains and kopjes, with chances for memorable photographs. Return to your Serena Lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro | Crater & Maasai Boma

After breakfast, check out and drive out of the Serengeti towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast volcanic caldera and UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a game drive among black rhino, lions, hippos, buffalo and large herds of grazing animals. Enjoy a picnic lunch beside a hippo pool. On the way up, visit a Maasai Boma to learn about their traditions, dances and daily life. Continue to your Serena Lodge on the crater rim for dinner and an overnight stay.

Arusha | Departure

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Enjoy your final views of Tanzania’s landscapes as your 6-day Classic Tanzania Safari & Beach journey comes to an end. We wish you a safe and pleasant onward journey.
