As you arrive at Tbilisi International Airport in the vibrant capital of Georgia, your driver greets you beneath the evening glow of the city. After checking into your hotel, you wander through Old Town’s winding lanes, where ancient church domes rise above modern cafés. As night falls, you enjoy a welcome dinner accompanied by a traditional Georgian dance performance, an evocative introduction to the country’s rich culture and warm hospitality. Discovering Tbilisi

Today you wander through Tbilisi’s layered history. Starting at the ancient Metekhi Church perched above the Mtkvari River, then the sulfur-bath district of Abanotubani and the domes of Narikala Fortress, riding the cable car high for sweeping city views. You dip into the old synagogue and churches, then pause in the national museum’s treasury of Georgian archaeology.

Mountain Highway & Kazbegi

A road northward on the legendary Georgian Military Highway unfolds the cliff-top Jvari Monastery looking over the confluence of two rivers, the fortress complex at Ananuri by Jinvali Reservoir, the iconic Friendship Monument near Gudauri, and finally dramatic mountains calling you to Kazbegi where the Gergeti Trinity Church stands high. Return to Tbilisi.

Ancient Capitals & Rock Cities

You leave Tbilisi for deeper Georgian landscapes, beginning at Mtskheta, the ancient capital and spiritual heart, then visiting the 11th-century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Drive to winery to get acquainted with Georgian way of making wine – listed in UNESCO intangible heritage list. Later explore the rock-city Uplistsikhe, carved into the riverside cliff, before arriving at the healing resort town of Borjomi. Tonight, you sleep in Akhaltsikhe.

Farewell to Georgia
